After graduating from the University of Hull with an honours degree in Sports Rehabilitation, Alex moved to Colchester where he worked for the MOD as a remedial instructor, and it was here where Alex pursued his interest in boxing.

“Ever since I was young I’ve been interested in learning to box but it wasn’t until I discovered Champions Gym that I really got the chance to learn, and within months I lost 2 stone and was hooked”.

After working for the MOD, Alex was soon snapped up by John Powell, British International and UK Athletic Sprint Coach for Trackspeed 1. He supported the team in the UK and joined them in America as the head therapist, where he provided rehabilitation, massage and fitness advice.

“A valuable source of advice and assistance. Alex’s contribution was priceless, and facilitated some outstanding performances at international level”

Continuing his work for the military, Alex moved to Catterick, to join the rehabilitation team at the Infantry Training Centre where he ran various fitness and rehabilitation classes for Army Infantry recruits; and the Primary Care Rehabilitation Facility where he met Andy and was soon offered the opportunity to work with AVA.

“Alex is strong, athletic and knows his stuff!  Both at Catterick or at my AVA clinic I can trust he gives a floor-less program for his clients and represents himself and my practice to the highest level.  He constantly comes up with new and inventive training techniques that pushes an individual to higher level, something that in my experience personal trainers fall short on.”

Whilst in the North, Alex became affiliated with Hanuman Thai Boxing Gym and is planning a trip to Thailand to further develop his skills in the ring.

Alex has also worked alongside professional sports teams including Hull FC, Hull KR and Scunthorpe United, where in gained invaluable fitness and injury experience.

As a qualified personal trainer, fitness instructor and keen boxer with a sound knowledge of the human body, Alex is able provide fun and exciting boxercise classes that are a great way to tone up and lose weight, or maintain fitness and improve technique. Come along and see!
